Real estate software provider RealPage Inc. is slated to acquire prominent resident engagement company Modern Message, Inc. With their combined platforms under one brand, RealPage will offer a complete resident portal with payments, resident communication, and resident loyalty services.
RealPage is registered as a payment facilitator.
Modern Message brings to the brand a comprehensive and user-friendly engagement platform that offers current residents an interactive mobile user interface and already services over half the property management companies in the National Multifamily Housing Council Top 50, according to the press release.
“Modern Message provides a unique boost to our already powerful resident engagement platform,” said RealPage Senior Vice President of Consumer Solutions Jon Pastor in the same release. “The two solutions joined together enable our clients to give residents a rich rewards experience, boost ancillary revenue, resident loyalty and reputation scores, and see greater adoption of their RealPage solutions. In short, we will be able to offer clients and residents the full potential of a resident portal.”
Benefits of the collaboration include engagement offerings that drive resident retention, satisfaction and referrals, as well as an increase in online payments for amenities and other available services, the company said. Improved property reputation, conversion rates and an integrated solution that will work with any property management platform are also on the list.

Terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
